I’m an enterprising individual who loves to take initiatives to make things happen, hence held various positions of responsibility right from early school days till date.
I believe in the idea of compound interest and putting small yet planned efforts each day to become better than the person yesterday.
I had been fascinated by the green coloured PCBs (Printed Circuit Board) from a very early age and tinkering with machines ever since.
I love to explore fields horizontally, find the sweet spot to zero-in then go all the way into it. Currently exploring the world of Distributed Systems, Cyber Security and Embedded systems, and in this path of exploration making use of golang (primarily), python and Clojure for interacting with computers, each representative of a different paradigm of thinking/programming.
I love to build things, not just software. I’ve been fascinated with green coloured circuit boards since childhood. That love is still there but with time I’ve discovered the power one can unleash if, along with the circuits one can develop the software that runs on them. An engineer at heart, I’m grateful to have become the person I am today where I can realise what I once dreamt of doing. I’m an enthusiastic engineer who loves to research, learn in-depth, implement it (mostly in golang) then take notes in Obsidian. A black terminal screen (kitty or iTerm2) running tmux with vim makes me feel at home.

Souvik Haldar is the Founder and CEO of Hornet, a leading platform dedicated to blockchain and dark web investigation and intelligence. With a solid foundation in Computer Science and Engineering from Techno Main Salt Lake, he furthered his expertise with an Executive Diploma in Cyber Security from IIT Kanpur and is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from IGNOU. His career includes experience as a Software Engineer at several startups, with his most recent role at the Israeli cybersecurity firm Imperva.

Souvik has been recognized with numerous accolades for his entrepreneurial efforts. He was the Winner of STPI Chunauti 5.0, securing seed funding, and received the Best Innovation Award from the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Vinai Saxena. Additionally, he was awarded the Best Startup accolade at ABP-INFOCOM and represented the Department of IT of West Bengal at the India Mobile Congress 2023, inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Key achievements include:

  • Leading the development of an advanced Cryptocurrency and Dark Web Forensics Platform, garnering significant industry recognition and funding.
  • Representing Hornet at prominent international tech conferences, such as TiECon in Santa Clara and the RSA Conference in San Francisco, to showcase innovative cybersecurity solutions.
  • Successfully raising pre-seed funding from Pontaq VC and securing grants from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
